Pilates at Genesee Dance
What to Expect
A workout that prepares you for life. Experience a century-old method rooted in breath, balance and vitality.
❋ What is Pilates?
Pilates is full-body exercise system focusing on core strength, posture, mobility, and body awareness through precise movements. We teach based on the principles and exercises invented by Joseph Pilates, a German immigrant who brought his method to the U.S. in 1926.
Pilates involves special equipment designed to add support and resistance. It can also be practiced on a mat with only your own body weight.
❋ Small Group Classes
Community is at the heart of our studio. Our small group classes combine the benefits of private training with the connection, community and energy of a group fitness class.
Reformer classes are limited to 4 participants. Mat, barre and yoga may have up to 8 students.
❋ Expert Teachers
Classes and sessions are led by experienced and certified teachers who know how to cue effectively, provide customized feedback, and keep things moving with purpose.
❋ Private Training
Private sessions are the ultimate collaboration between student and teacher. We help you identify your goals and create a custom Pilates-based program to give you the tools you need to succeed.
